PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE Charlestown Heritage and Historic District Commission

Notice is hereby given that the Charlestown Heritage and Historic District Commission will hold a public hearing to consider the details of the Design Guidelines for the Charlestown Historic Districts. In 2025, the voters of Charlestown adopted a Historic Districts Ordinance to preserve the historic character of the districts while allowing for appropriate changes and improvements. Design Guidelines are established to identify key features of the historic districts that should be respected when planning any alterations or new construction. Design Guidelines provide the commission with a basis for unbiased and uniform reviews of proposed work in historic districts, and provide property owners with guidance in planning their projects.

A copy of the proposed Design Guidelines is available for public review at the Charlestown Town Office during regular business hours and may also be accessed byClicking Here. All interested persons, especially property owners in the 2 historic districts, are encouraged to attend and provide input.
