The Charlestown Board of Selectmen will hold a Public Hearing pursuant to RSA 41-9:A regarding the setting of fees

The hearing will be held at 5:30 on July 16, 2025 in the Community Room located at 26 Railroad St, Charlestown, NH.

New fee will be effective August 1, 2025

Permit Fee $75.00 1st $20.00 2nd

New Permit Fee $100.00 1st $20.00 2nd Proposed Rate Construction/Demo - $0.15 cents a lb. (= $300 a ton) Minimum fee $3.00 Toilets & Sinks - $0.15 cents a lb. Bulk items - will be weighed @ $0.15 lb. Love Seat - will be weighed @ $0.15 lb. Sofas/Couches - will be weighed @ $0.15 lb. Pull out sofa - will be weighed @ $0.15 lb. Recliners - will be weighed @ $0.15 lb. Televisions - $0.30 a lb. Printers - $5.00 CPU & Monitors $10.00 each Complete computer systems (3 pieces) - $20.00 Stereos/VCR/Radios - $5.00 each Vacuums - $5.00

Paramedic Intercept Fee

The Charlestown Fire Department has been asked to provide Paramedic Intercept Services to neighbor ambulances when they need a paramedic and one is not available elsewhere.

The Town of Charlestown is lucky that currently the Fire Department has three Critical Care Paramedics that are trained and outfitted to perform these services.

The Paramedic Intercept fee is billed to the requesting ambulance service that is calling for our help. This revenue is deposited into the General Fund like any other revenue the Town generates. The requesting ambulance service is able to bill the patient’s health insurance for the care provided by our paramedics.

Providing mutual aid to neighboring communities is how our emergencies services survive. No town is capable of providing all of the services needed all of the time. Going and helping someone when they need help and you have the resources needed is always the right thing to do. It is how all of our communities survive.

It is not going to be a huge revenue stream for the Town, but any little bit helps. These funds generated by the fire department will help to offset their operating costs.
